Rev. Lyn Bell
Biographical Background
Rev. Bell was born in Brunswick, Georgia and grew up in a family where church atten-dance and worship was a mandatory part of their lives. That foundation built the basis of her desire to serve and abide in the will of God today.
She accepted salvation 1972 and sang in the junior choir until adulthood. Over the years, she has served in the role of Sunday school teacher, Assistant to the Pastor, developed and chaired Usher and Evangelism ministries, and served a congregation as a Deacon. During this time she heard the call from God to tell the world about Him. She began studying at the Bible Institutes of God to minister the gospel at her local church. As her growth in Christ continued, she received training and licensing under New Birth Deliverance Ministries in Fort Washington, Maryland and ordained at Calvary Gospel Church, Waldorf, Maryland.
In a desire to serve more, SLS Ministries, Inc. was founded in 2003. It ministers through meetings for bible enrichment aimed at strengthening today’s Christian woman. In keeping the great commission on the forefront, its an evangelistic outreach forum to share Christ with the world through conferences, seminars and workshops and other evangelistic outreaches.
She is an author that publishes Manna Moments, a daily devotional for personal bible study over the internet. Prior to that she was a contributing author to the book 100 Words of Wisdom, a national domestic violence campaign fundraiser. Desiring to share the gospel she has taught an outreach bible study at a shelter in Washington, DC, a weekly bible study in a government agency, currently is a bible teacher at her local assembly, as well as travels throughout the country to speak at conferences, Sunday morning worship services, retreats and workshops. As the result of social conscious contributions in her community, Rev. Bell was a 2009 Charles County Women Commission Honoree.
In a desire to be a servant used by God, Rev. Bell has a heart for studying of the Word, firmly believing that God's people will perish from a lack of knowledge of the things of God. The commandment to love one another covers our lives and will allow us to serve one another as Christ served mankind.
Rev. Bell resides in Waldorf, Maryland with her husband Carlton, Sr. and son, Carlton, Jr. Her family attends Calvary Gospel Church in Waldorf, MD. She has enhanced her theological foundation with attendance at Maple Springs Baptist Bible Seminary and obtained a Bachelors in Biblical Studies and a Masters Degree in Theology at Calvary Christian College. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Theology.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners (Isaiah 61:1).
